General Settings
Overview¶
The General Settings application shows the Default System Language, and Crystal Eye Admin Theme. The option to Shutdown and Restart the Crystal Eye XDR can be availed as well in case there is a requirement to do so. The Partner Details section allows the CE XDR administrator to fill in the Name, Phone Number and the Email ID that shall be displayed when web pages are blocked by the Crystal Eye XDR.
Note
Powering down or restarting a Crystal Eye Appliance is best done via the General Settings page.
In cases where the UI is not accessible, the Crystal Eye Appliance can be shut down using the physical power button typically found on the front panel of the appliance. Care must be taken when using the physical power button to ensure continued stable operation of the Crystal Eye Appliance.
The best way to power down the device using the hardware button on the front panel is to press (no more than 1 second), release and then wait for the system to perform a graceful shutdown which can take a minute or two.
It is not advisable to force a power down by pressing and holding the power button until the system powers off nor is it OK to simply disconnect mains power from this appliance. This kind of shutdown increases the risk of database corruption which may result problems with accessing the appliance UI or failure to restart.
Installation¶
The General Settings application is installed by default and can be accessed from the left-hand navigation panel.
